HBO did you dump out?
15 08 2007Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ…
I will start by saying that John From Cincinnati is (was) arguably one of the most creative shows to ever make it onto television. Obviously, this is only my belief as HBO has taken it away from the viewers. I am sure that they have done their homework and found out that there is no market for such a witty, creative, quirky, and intriguing hour of entertainment.
My findings today may beg to differ. As soon as I heard that the show was canceled I felt an immediate urge to ban together and fight this decision. So, I created a “Save John” Yahoo Group and posted a link onto DIGG thinking hey I might get one or two other people who feel the same way. At the time of this post it looks like it might make “100″ DIGGS today and I have “48″ new friends who feel the same way that I do. The JFC forums on HBO’s site are absolutely flooded with viewers begging for its return and a few people have posted video’s on YouTube.
I have found that there are loyal follows for quite a few other shows that they have recently shit canned. You would hope that there is someone over at HBO and would monitor these things and see that there is a big market for shows like this and continue to produce them but just offer them thru another time slot or distribution channel. I don’t get it HBO promotes them selves as producing original series, but just when they create the most original series ever, they can it. All of the chatter on the web just leads me to believe that the ratings systems that the HBO execs are using don’t take into consideration what people are really asking for.
Lets organize and convince HBO that they made a mistake and Save John From Cincinnati. Digg this to get the word out
http://digg.com/television/Save_John_From_Cincinnati
Be sure to join the group so that we can continue to spread the message to HBO that they shouldn’t take the Yost Family away from us, and post your comments so they can see how you feel.
“I don’t know Butchie, instead. “

Spock Search
21 05 2007After seeing Spock present at the Web2.0 Conference I have been anxiously awaiting my invitation to their service. Well I got it today, and was really let down to find out that their site was immediately flooded. I know it is beta, but come on guys, you knew that the site was going to get pounded, plan for it better. Another thing that I immediately disliked is the request to login to my email provider to download my contacts (you want my username and password?). I first saw this used on Yelp, and curiosity made me try it out, but afterward I was so paranoid that I went back and changed my email account password. Fortunately this is an optional request, though I didn’t even see the “Skip this step” link until someone pointed it out to me.
Well I hope Spock gets more servers up soon so I can enjoy this new service. It looked pretty bad ass at the conference.

It’s on…
16 04 2007Alright, I said I would do it, so here I am, blogging the Web 2.0 Conference. It’s the first day and I’m sitting in the lobby of the “Hotel” waiting for Scott to get up and get down here.
After a LONG flight from TPA, and a crazy ass cab ride from the airport, we checked it to our Hotel. Let’s just say it is a little less than what was advertised on the website. I thought that we had it bad, until going to Scott’s room. His room is reminiscent of a jail cell in Alcatraz. I havn’t seen Johns room yet, but he says that “he feels bad, that we got shitty rooms” and that his is “pretty nice”. Oh, well.. At least its a place to sleep. In the short time here I have seen plenty less fortunate.
Last night we took a walk around to try and find Scott a jacket and some shoes. Us FL folk, don’t understand that the rest of the world actually wears more that Flip Flops and T-shirts for a reason. It is a bit cold here. Afterward, we checked out China town and had dinner a on the “Empress China – Rooftop “. The place was pretty good, but had an amazing view. Crazy to see the Flag of China flowing in the breeze above an American city. John crashed afterward, and Scott and I walked all over for a couple of hours just checking shit out.
Well we are off… I’ll be back later with more….
